The itinerary will start in front of the Palace of Culture and will continue in the direction of Stefan cel Mare si Sfant Boulevard, marking the most important objectives along the route: The Palace of Culture Square, Three Hierarchs Monastery, Roznovanu Palace, The Metropolitan Cathedral, The National Theatre. Cuza Voda Street.

After about 2 hours, you will continue with your guide to a renowned wine bar to get to know the most representative wines of the area in a tasting session with 4 local wines.

Cricova wineries & Chisinau

A unique experience that you can enjoy in a one-day tour is a visit with wine tasting at Cricova, the most famous wine cellar in Moldova, being considered one of the largest wineries in the world.

The day will start early in the morning in the company of the local guide, following that the route to Cricova will last approximately 3-4 hours, depending on traffic conditions and customs formalities. The route will surprise you with the beautiful Moldavian landscapes, with hills and hills dotted with villages and church towers, the living imprint of the Christian heritage.

Once you arrive in Cricova, you will be picked up by the winery guide who will lead you to the means of transport in the winery, an electric train. The visit will begin with the presentation of the site itself, a network of 100 kilometers of roads, streets, alleys and warehouses excavated in limestone up to a depth of 80 meters, in a word – an underground city. You will visit the specific rooms and galleries, from the maturing room to the sparkling wine preparation room and part of the wine collection open to the public. The wine tasting session is prepared in a specially equipped room and will be done in the company of the specialist guide.

Your experience will be completed by a walking and driving tour in Chisinau, to capture the city’s attractions such as the Cathedral, the Arc de Triomphe, the Government Building, the City Hall and other buildings in the company of the local guide and the energetic atmosphere of the city.

History and tradition at Cotnari Vineyard

Discover the atmosphere of the Cotnari Vineyards wrapped in history, local traditions and unique wine. Cotnari, one of the most famous and well-known vineyards in Romania, built on the foundation of a history of approximately 2000 years, is proud to be the only vineyard where exclusively local varieties have been preserved: Grasă de Cotnari, Fetească Albă, Tâmiaosă Românească and Francuşa. The Romanian varieties grown here cover an area of approximately 1700 hectares.

Along with your guide and the interesting stories about the history of the place, wineries, wines and Stefan the Great, you will visit different sections of the winery and you will go through the impressive collection of wines in the wine cellar, here you can find about 1 million bottles, of which the oldest the preserved wine bottle is from 1956. The route will lead you to the tasting room where you will get to know the flavors of Cotnari wine and the famous Grasa de Cotnari.

In the afternoon, the visit will continue with a stop at the “Ionela Mihuleac” Creation Workshop to get to know the Cucuteni ceramics and its beautiful story more than 5 thousand years old.

Return to Iasi, with transfer to the hotel around 17:00.

Once you arrive at Castel Mimi, you will get to know the architecture of the place and the very beautiful garden designed according to the original patterns, it is no coincidence that Castel Mimi is included in the top 15 most beautiful wineries in the world! You will start by visiting the winery with its specific rooms, following which the wine tasting session will be opened in the castle restaurant.
