Construita pe temelia unei istorii vechi de aproximativ 2000 de ani pe care cultivarea vitei-de-vie a scris-o pe Dealul Catalina din Podisul Moldovei, Podgoria Cotnari este una dintre cele mai cunoscute din tara. Soiurile romanesti cultivate aici se intind pe o suprafata de aproximativ 1700 ha (un pic mai mult decat ocupa intreg orasul Targu Frumos).
Cotnariul este singura podgorie in care s-au pastrat exclusiv soiuri autohtone: Grasa de Cotnari, Feteasca Alba, Tamaioasa Romaneasca si Francusa.

La Cotnari turistul patrunde in lumea vinului si a istoriei din zona. Este invitat sa descopere cele 15 hrube ale podgoriei (hruba este o incapere sau galerie subterana care serveste la depozitarea produselor), vinoteca, dar si Cetatea Catalina, Necropola de la Cucuteni, Ruinele bisericii lui Despot-Voda, Biserica Sf. Parascheva, Castelul Carjoaia, Castelul cu campanela.
Emblema Casei de Vinuri Cotnari surprinde Castelul Vladoianu din Carjoaia, construit in anul 1901 de catre insusi boier Vladoianu, fost guvernator BNR si distins viticultor, ca fiind pura inspiratie in povestea vinului.

La construirea castelului s-a folosit un proiect italian si materiale aduse din Italia. Odata cu trecerea timpului, domeniului i-au fost atribuite diverse destinatii: in timpul celui de-al doilea razboi mondial a fost folosit de armata rusa ca spital iar intre anii 1945-1950 a functionat ca orfelinat. Dupa anul 1950 a fost preluat de CAP apoi de IAS Cotnari. In 2000 a fost retrocedat mostenitorilor de drept de la care a fost ulterior achizitionat. In prezent, peste Castelul Vladoianu si-a lasat amprenta trecerea timpului, insa in viitor se urmareste realizarea unui proiect unicat de restaurare a domeniului, ce ii va reda stralucirea de odinioara, specifica belle époque.

In acest moment Crama Cotnari adaposteste o colectie impresionanta de vinuri de vinoteca, avand in total aproximativ 1.000.000 de sticle, din care cea mai veche sticla de vin pastrata la invechire este din 1956.

The emblem of the Cotnari Wine House captures the Vlădoianu Castle in Cârjoaia, built in 1901 by Boier Vlădoianu himself, former governor of the BNR and a distinguished winemaker, as pure inspiration in the story of the wine.

Currently, over Vlădoianu Castle has left its mark on the passage of time, but in the future it is aimed to carry out a unique project to restore the domain, which will restore its former, specific brilliance.

At this moment, Cotnari Crama houses an impressive collection of wine cellar wines, having a total of about 1,000,000 bottles, of which the oldest glass of wine kept for aging is 1956.
